Yaw Agawu-Kakraba is Professor of Spanish and Director of The Pennsylvania State University’s Office for Summer Session. He holds a B.A. (Honors) in Spanish and Linguistics from the University of Ghana and an M.A. in Spanish literature from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Yaw also studied at Cornell University where he received an M.A. and PhD in Hispanic Literatures and Culture. He has published extensively on contemporary Spanish narrative and drama. His most recent book, Postmodernity in Spanish Fiction Culture, was published in 2010 by the University of Wales Press. For the past six years, Yaw has co-directed the biennial International Conference on Afro-Hispanic, Luso-Brazilian, and Latin American Studies (ICALLAS) held at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana.
