Research and Teaching                                                                                                 

Dr. Chen's research and teaching interests include cognitive and information sciences and technology as related to learning. He studies the human-computer interaction, especially for cognitive learning for undergraduate students.

Biographical Information                                                                                               

Chen holds teaching and research positions in the University College at Penn State University. He designs, builds, and studies ways for information sciences to enhance thinking and learning. Chen has degrees in Computer Science Engineering and Education, and currently his research focuses on the human-computer interaction for cognitive learning. Other interests include the use of design activities as a teaching method, uses of artificial intelligence systems in cognitive learning. Previously, Dr. Chen was a Graduate Lecturer at the College of Information Sciences & Technology and a Graduate Researcher at the College of Education in Penn State University. Currently, he works in the University College of Penn State University as a tenured faculty.
