This is my trip to Seattle to give research update to Weyerhaeuser ... and visit Mt.St.Hellens and Ranier after a 600+ inch snow:
Panther Tracks next to mine on StrawBerry Ridge (Hellens). Overlook at the site of now missing Strawberry Ridge Fire Tower ... took several hours to hike here ... at times on 10+ feet of snow! Here is an awsome small water-fall on Iron Creek (Hellens). Trail near Iron Creek Campground (Hellens). Could not resist coming home via Ranier ... here was one of dozens of waterfalls: Chrsitine Falls. |

| 8/11/02 | Dr. Curtis's Quest for Camp Curtis @ ~9000ft on Mount Rainier; Hike started @ ~ 6 am, and reached the top of Mt. Ruth overlooking Camp Curtis about 3 pm. Started at "Sunrise" parking lot, and droped ~2000 ft down into valley before climbing back up "the prow" which slits a large glacier down either side. |
