Here is an article in the NY Times that somebody wrote regarding her first six days with the iPhone. Interesting because at the end of Day #6, she is thinking of returning it because it hasn't changed her life as much as she thought.

Wondering - does one really have to send the iPhone away to get a new battery as the article indicates? Checked the User's Manual and sure enough:

Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually
need to be replaced. The iPhone battery is not user replaceable; it can only be replaced
by an authorized service provider. For more information, go to:

I heard the news report this morning. Apparently the battery is soldered into the back of the iPhone. You need to send it to Apple for replacement. The cost is about $70-something plus shipping & handling. You can rent a replacement phone to hold you over for about 30 bucks. I believe Apple said there is a turnaround time of 2-3 business days for the battery replacement.

Good site! I'll stay reading! Keep improving!
