Guys my age don't wear blazers much.
This trait seemed to have skipped a generation but, if I may suggest
one to own it's the classic navy. The great thing about a navy blazer is
its versatility. It's solid with clean lines and flatters all physiques
and statures. I recommend buying one in the deepest shade of blue you
can find. Here's three ways I like to wear it.
A man about town. Wear your navy blazer with a white t-shirt, dark jeans, and sneakers, clean sneakers, a you'll feel as cool as you look. I'll wear this combo to a party, for walking around town, or having a drink with friends.

Academic casual. I work in higher ed where the dress code is eclectic. I like the freedom of expression we have with our clothes and I also like to look good. I see my clothes as an expression of myself. I like to wear clothes that match my mood for the day and the circumstances I expect to encounter. Here I wear my blazer with a stripped dress shirt, dark jeans and tan suede boots.

Dress it up. There are times, even in academia, where we're required to dress up a little. This doesn't necessarily always mean wearing a suit. Pair a crisp white dress short, gray knits, and a rich brown shoe and you'll be styling. Tuck in a pocket square and no tie is required.

You'll not I omitted the classic American combo of pairing the navy blazer with khakis. I love my khakis and I love my navy blazer. I just don't love them together. Why? I think it's because this combo's become the default dress uniform for many of us. I don't mind wearing the same clothes as everyone else but I do not want to look like everyone else.

The first outfit makes me think of fresh-faced Rick Astley...This is my favorite look. Wish more guys would pick up on your fashion sense...maybe we'll see more once your gentleman blog picks up speed.

This post makes me thing of "Suit Up!" from How I met your Mother. Gus here on the sunshine coast rarely rock anything else than jeans and t-shirt.
