In Fall 2008, the scholars stayed local for their semester fieldtrip.  Philadelphia provided students the opportunity to explore the theme of hunger and poverty through Philadelphia's murals.  The scholars took a morning trolley tour through north Philadelphia to view neighborhoods, the people, and the stunning artwork that establishes a unique identity for the city.

The Honors Scholars traveled to Washington DC for enhanced honors course experiences.  The students in the honors anthropology course visited the Smithsonian Institution's American Indian Museum, where they toured the exhibits and sampled Native American cuisine.  The students in the communications and civic engagement courses visited Congressman Joe Sestak's office and received a tour of Capitol Hill.

The honors program takes field trips during the semester to a variety of locations. The field trips are connected to the studies in honors courses and honors option investigations. Certainly, campus scholars participate in several trips on their own and take advantage of the opportunity to study abroad through Penn State Brandywine's programs.
