It did not take us long to develop our honors programming theme for 2008-2009:
Competing Forces, Creative Tensions.
Looking ahead to the upcoming year, we are approaching a presidential election that has energized and engaged this country to a new level. In February 2009, there will be worldwide celebrations for Charles Darwin's 200th birthday and the 150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of Species. And there are several additional "competitions" and "tensions" occurring on a local-to-international level (did we mention the Summer Olympic games?).
