40) Locks of Love!

In the words of the organizers of the event.....

The Locks of Love Committee would like to thank the campus for your participation in our hair donation event yesterday. Locks of Love uses donated hair to create wigs for children suffering from cancer and other illnesses. The event was a huge success. The event aired on the NBC 10 5:00 news, so kudos to our marketing team for helping us get the word out. We would like to thank our hair donors, especially those who went the distance - so to speak - and donated 10 or more inches of hair. We had a total of 25 hair donors from our student body, faculty and staff, alumni, and the community and were able to donate close to 250 inches of hair. We would also like to especially thank the 12 stylists who donated their time and talent to make our event successful. The salons are listed below if you'd like to show your support. Thanks also to all of you who came to event to cheer us on and show your support. The event was a great culmination to the 40 Acts of Kindness.

39) Lions Recycle for Sight

Corporate Communications major Danielle Lites is leading an effort to give old glasses new life!  Her and her fellow teammates have joined with the Lion's Club in collecting old eyeglasses that will be donated to help others across the globe.  The campus donations will become a part of the 20 million eyeglasses that are donated to the Lion's Club each year!
