Flightplan is a typical Hollywood blockbuster made to entertain people. Jodie Foster did a perfect job in delivering a hysterical mom in great grief of her just-passed-away husband. But that was all that shined - the plot was nearly perfect in the first half, but appeared far too implausible as the truth gradually unveiled. The bad guys' plan was totally reliant on a complex series of events which might not even happen at all, and they appeared far too stupid to have masterminded such an intricate scheme. Another thing to mention was the plot about the Arabs onboard, whom were suspected by the mom (and others) as the kidnappers/hijackers. I think this is unfair, just like the Russians usually appeared as villains in American movies in the 50s - 70s, but that shows a shift of subconscious perception of threat from the former Soviet Union to the Middle East in recent years. But then again, it's Hollywood. |
