Top-Down Nanofabrication
Top-down nanofabrication is the process of taking any application and
shrinking it down to the nanoscale. Of course the above definition is
just a simple way of understanding what is top-down nanofabrication,
but if you want to understand the core of how to miniaturize an application
such as copper, the steps are somewhat complicated.
Please read the following document on Top-Down Nanofabrication, the
document provides a more in-depth analysis of the procedures for shrinking
an application down to the size of just a few nanometers. The document
also contains some images to help you see what atoms look like and how
scientists arrange them at the nanoscale level.
