Accommodations

The Stone Valley civil engineering lodge is on a lake deep in the forested hills of central PA, surrounded by miles of hiking trails. Along with the rental of the lodge, we have access to 12 cabins, each housing 4 sets of single size bunk beds. The cabins are a little rustic, with no electricity or running water, though the lodge has both. You must bring your own bedding. Bathrooms and showers are close by.

We have reserved the lodge and cabins from 12 pm Friday June 24 until 8 am Sunday June 26. All of our guests are welcome to stay in the cabins one or both nights. The cabins and lodge must be cleaned and empty by 8 am Sunday morning.

Directions to State College

From New York City, or I-80 West. In PA, exit I-80 at Exit 161 (formerly exit 24) (Bellefonte) and follow PA Route 26 south to State College.

From the Philadelphia, take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 19 (Harrisburg East), and follow I-283 to I-83 north. Proceed north to the I-81 interchange. Then follow I-81 west to US Route 322 through Lewistown to State College.

From Pittsburgh, Follow US Route 22 East beyond Duncansville to Water Street, PA Route 45 east to Pine Grove Mills and Route 26 north to State College.

I-80 East take Exit 161 (Bellefonte) and follow Route 26 south to State College.

From D.C. / Baltimore take I-95 or the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to Baltimore, west loop I-695 to I-83 north, then I-81 west to US Route 322 west and proceed to State College.

Lodge Directions from State College (SC)

1. Take Route 26 South out of SC. Downtown R-26 is College Ave. and one way, Southwest, toward the Lodge.

2. Approximately 5 miles outside of SC you will come to the village of Pine Grove Mills. In Pine Grove Mills, R-26 makes a left turn at a flashing traffic signal.

3. After the turn you will be headed up and over Tussey Mountain, 4 miles. On the other side you will make a right hand turn onto Route SR 1029 (Charter Oak Road). There is a brown directional sign on Route 26 just before the turn.

4. Once on SR 1029, go 3.7 miles to Stone Valley’s West entrance. This entrance will be located on the left side of the road. The West Entrance provides access to the C. E. Lodge and accompanying cabins.
