(starts work on neko-conversion drive) | IP: Logged Robin MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 786 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 04:37 AM But wouldn't you need antinekos to get it to work? What is an antineko? ------------------ www.mfdc.co.uk - DC madness =) | IP: Logged Syngyne MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 274 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 04:51 AM An inu. More specifically, a pellet of high-density inu. Progress report: the working prototype we have is down for service. We were able to maintain the reaction for about 4 seconds and achieve a near 85% efficiency for the conversion. Unfortunately, the remaining 15% was unvaporized cat fur which clogged one of the injection arrays, causing the reaction to lose energy and fail. We're currently looking into installing a filter of some sort. | IP: Logged Rail Cayder MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 518 Member Rated: posted January 16, 2001 04:53 AM antinekos? I think that would be Fugu. Actually, Fugu would be unnessecary, since the Neko Neko itself has enough power inside it already. the hard part is utilizing this power, as it is hard to harness. (you may have felt this power before...in the form of a Catfart.) NEKO NEKO WAI!!! a new wai of life. (edit: corrected some spelling. Also, the reason you arent getting a complete reaction out of the Neko Neko, is because the Neko must be kept alive, happy, and thoroughly brushed. being full of beans is optional) ------------------ -Rail Cayder / Randy Pickering http://www.geocities.com/superfighterg/ [This message has been edited by Rail Cayder (edited January 16, 2001).] | IP: Logged Syngyne MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 274 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 05:05 AM quote: Originally posted by Rail Cayder: Actually, Fugu would be unneccisary, since the Neko Neko itself has enough power inside it already. the hard part is utilizing this power, as it is hart to harness. I once knew the legendary Neko Neko. A tough neko, he travelled the land dispensing Neko justice wherever he went. He defeated dog and mouse alike. He held more Neko Neko power than any other Neko alive, and used it for the betterment of the world. He was revered by few, feared by many. If you'd had seen 1 cat take down 3 dogs in a daring display of aerial battle, you two would know that this cat was something special. together, me and this Neko saved the world countless times. He taught me the ways of battle (Hint: go for the eyes!) and all about being DAMN SEX+AY! He was last seen walking out into the snow of a cold winter afternoon, well into his 19th year on this earth, let out by my idiot brother. His Name: Cool Whip. And now you know the rest of the story. ------------------ -Rail Cayder / Randy Pickering http://www.geocities.com/superfighterg/ | IP: Logged Hazer MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 24 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 05:24 AM quote: Originally posted by MistahKurtz: Only 12 years!! (hahaha sorry) Genetic liver failure. Kinda cuts things short.... And the original model OniNeko kicked the ass off of German Sheppards in one neighborhood I lived in (indoor/outdoor cat)... Who needs dogs when you have a trained attack cat? | IP: Logged Syngyne MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 274 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 09:21 AM Well, here is our prototype unit: A neko is stored in the central reaction chamber (obscured by the induction loop). Antinekos are fed through the injection array from above (central conduit). The resulting energy from the reaction is channeled into the induction loop where electricity is generated. The conduit to the right is the main power line. We've gotten it to run at a stable 77% efficiency. The cat fur is still causing problems, though not as bad since we installed a HEPA filter near the antineko injection array. As to keeping the neko alive and happy, unfortunately our method of energy production does not lend itself to much happiness, unless you're a fan of gamma radiation. We have started research on another reactor type in an effort to harness WAI energy, but unfortunately we are having problems accelerating catnip to relativistic speeds. This is what happens when you bring a sketch pad to work and no one's calling in for tech support. :P | IP: Logged Spaceman42 MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 384 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 09:36 AM Hrm... if you could get an EM-acceleration on that catnip, by adding on metal that would melt off from the heat of acceleration, it *could* be possible. However, you'd need to have a very good metal filtration system so that the metal doesn't clog the accelerator... | IP: Logged Spaceman42 MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 384 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 09:37 AM EM meaning ElectroMagnetic, of course. | IP: Logged Syngyne MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 274 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 10:35 AM Hmm... I think the main problem is that the R&D team is insisting that something needs to be going at relativistic speeds for it to work correctly. Injecting the catnip into the reaction chamber by a less violent means, say, by handing it to the neko doesn't seem like an option to them. Those guys are very reluctant to consider a power generator viable that doesn't involve either high-energy plasma or a linear accelerator of some sort. They claim that it's because these are tried and true methods of power generation. However, I'm beginning to suspect it's simply because they like blowing shit up. | IP: Logged Masato-Kun MegaTokyo Citizen Member # 646 Rate Member posted January 16, 2001 10:42 AM Don't try to use hairless cats.
