Central Pennsylvania Hatch Chart
This hatch chart was compiled by me from personal experience and with the help of the Fly Fishing Connection hatch charts.
The majority of the spring creeks in Pennsylvania have cress bugs and scuds year round. Streams such as the Falling Springs Branch and the Letort Spring Run contain large quanities of both. These patterns can be fished year round with good results. Also streamers, like woolly buggers, bucktails, and zonkers, produce trout in early spring and late fall when there is little fly activity. Equally important, midges hatch from early spring to late fall and provide a stable diet for central Pennsylvania trout.
