Captain. Resided in Concord and Chelmsford, Mass. Operated corn and saw
mills; he erected mills in the east part of Chelmsford where Lowell now is.
He was Commisssioner of the Court in 1667. He had 450 acres of land granted
to him 3 July 1656 and exclusive right to erect and run a sawmill, provided
he would sell boards at three shillings per 100; and another grant of 100
acres and the right to build a grist or corn mill, provided he would keep a
sufficient mill and miller.

Richard cam with wife and six children in the "Elizabeth," 1634, and settled in Watertown, Mass.
Freeman, May 1635.
In 1638 he moved to Ipswitch, having been offered a louse lot and other priviledges to settle there and be the town wheelwright. he remained there until his death.
[396] Henry Kimball, probably the brother of Richard, came over with him - age 44, with his wife Susanna Stone, widow of Richard Cutting, whom he married in 1628. Henry died in 1648.

Richard's will of 5 Mar 1675, proved 8 Sept 1675 names all his sons and daughters except Martha. It has not been proven that Richard was the son of Richard and Elizabeth Kimball of Lawford, Essex, England and granson of Henry and Syssley (Cicely or
Cecilia) Kimball of Hitcham, Suffolk, England.
