Oliver and Bethia resided in the western part of Westford, now Forge Village, on land given him by his father in 1751 and then referred to by Ebenezer4 as ômy old homestead.ö Oliver was elected Treasurer of the Town of Westford in 1757, 1758, and 1759.
All of the thirteen children of Oliver and Bethia, except the youngest, were baptized by the Rev. Willard Hall, first minister of the church of Westford. By town vote in 1774 he, and a few others, were exempted from being assessed to support the
minister of the Town of Westford since ôhe is baptist.ö Shortly thereafter he appears on the tax lists for other purposes than support of the minister as ôDeacon Oliver Prescott,ö a title granted him by the Baptist Church in what is now South
Chelmsford, Mass.
