[103] He was a physician in Concord and highly valued.
[104] NDW: This below mentioned is probably the John Prescott who was married to Rebecca Bulkely. He was a physician, and I suspect the "Clyrurgion" should actually be "psysician."

Early Generations of the Founders of Old Dunstable, p.85
4.MAJOR WILLIAM TYNG, son of Hon. Jonathan and Sarah(Usher) Tyng, was born at Dunstable, April 22, 1679. He was a soldier. At the outbreak of Queen Anne's War he was a lieutenant in command of a garrison in Dunstable. For the first time the
Indians began to be active and troublesome in the winter season. By concurrent action of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, several companies were supplied with snowshoes and ordered out in the winter. These were called snowshoe men and the first
company engaged in this service was organized at Dunstable and commanded by Capt. [p.86] William Tyng. This was the first company of snowshoe men. They were in the field thirty days and returned with five scalps for which the company received a
bounty of two hundred pounds. The roll of the com-party is not preserved, but the dates and duration of service is stated in Massachusetts Council Records, Vol. IV., page 20: "A Muster Roll of the Foot Company under command of Capt. Wm Tyng
containing account of wages for services from Dec. 28 to Jany 25 1703-4, four weeks ú71-118 including 25s to Jonathan Prescott Junr Clyrurgion for looking after one of the men that came home sick."
