[600] Resided in Sudbury, Suffolk, England.
[601] William Brackett
[602] From:Threlfall, John B. 50 Great Migration Colonists, p. 95-96.
[603] He and Edward Brackett (presumably his brother) were residents of Sudbury at the same time. Both appear on the Sudbury list of the Military Survey of 1522.
[604] William was an able archer, Edward an able billman, both listed as butchers, each assessed 12 pence on goods alued at $2.
[605] One can reasonably assume that they grew up i the trade and learned it from their father who also must have lived in Sudbury.
[606] Two years later they both appear again on record as tazpayers in the 1524 Subsidy Return each down for 4 pence on wages of 20 shillings. No earlier mention of the name in Sudbury has been found.
[607] Edward Brackett died in 1540.
