Some find my views on many things (ie. user-design and true stakeholder participation) at the extreme. I have had numerous discussions with people of the mindset that extreme theory is useless to the practitioner and therefore useless in general. I would say to them that as human beings we tend to walk the fence on most issues. We like hanging out in the middle of ideas and issues. So where do we see the middle if one extreme is present and the other is not. The middle starts to drift if the sides of the discussion are not balanced. Therefore my work and my words will hopefully serve as a “strange attractor” in this chaos pulling the whole continuum of ideas like participation and empowerment in the direction I think it needs to go.
