Office Hours

Help for class assignments is best sought prior to and after class meetings.   If this time is not sufficient, additional help can be found via email.  However, you have the responsibility of doing this in advance - last minute inquiries cannot be honored.

Prerequisites

I will not assume that you have prior statistics experience. However, the pace of course may sometimes seem fast. If you find yourself falling behind, seek help immediately. I will assume basic mathematical skills through high school algebra.

Class Material

Calculator, access to a microcomputer for Excel examples.

Attendance

Attendance is required.  Your absence is your problem.  Announcements made during class are your responsibility.  Clarification of assignments are done during class meetings.

Objectives

Through lectures, readings, and project assignments you will acquire these skills:

Basic understanding of the term statistics.
Understanding of graphical descriptive techniques
Develop interpretive skills on descriptive measures
Gain a working knowledge probability and distributions.
