2003 Recipient of Power of the Paw citizenship Award State College High School
An honorable mention all-state pick as a senior captain at State College Area HS, Ganter passed for 1,510 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season. He led State his school to a 9-4 record and a runner-up finish in the district playoffs en route to being selected to compete in the Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star game. He completed 57 percent of his passes on the year. Ganter also rushed for 257 yards and eight touchdowns. The youngest son of Penn State associate athletic director for football administration and longtime offensive coordinator Fran Ganter, Ben is the fourth Ganter son to play Division I football following Jon (Princeton), Chris (Penn State) and Jason (Penn State).
