Ben joined the band in 2003 when bassist Alex Katunich left the band.  He has played with The Roots and in Mike Einziger's Time Lapse Consortium also starring Jose Pasillas II.   His style shifted the bands music from a more funk  undertone to a groove based sound. 

Ben also has his own side project, "The Division Group".   He has also worked in studio with various artists including Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
