Courses

The bulk of my coursework as a Chemistry major have, of course, been chemistry and other science courses.  Those I have taken to date include:

      - General Chemistry + Laboratory
      - Organic Chemistry + Laboratory
      - Oceanography
      - Environmental Geology

  - Physics: Mechanics
  - Physics: Electricity and Magnetism
  - General Biology
  - Calculus I & II

To continue with my Chemistry major and Biology minor, I am enrolled in the following in the fall:

      - Organic Structure
      - Physical Chemistry: Thermodynamics
      - Chemical Literature

- Quantitative Chemical Analysis
- Honors Biology: Molecules and Cells
- Calculus III

Sample Coursework

Biology Laboratory Report

An assignment for the laboratory for my General Biology course was to write up a laboratory report documenting the effects of varying pH, temperature, and substrate on the concentration of enzymatic reaction rates.

Alternative Fuel Sources Presentation

One of the assignments for my Environmental Geology class was to choose a current debate topic, decide which side of the issue to defend, and give an oral presentation using PowerPoint as a visual aid.  The topic I chose to defend was that the use of alternate fuel sources, as opposed to fossil fuels, is viable as well as necessary for environmental reasons.

White Paper

For my Technical Writing class, one of the homework assignments was to write a white paper about a consumer item of our choice, presenting it as if it were brand new.  I chose to write about the rubber tire, composing a paper filled with humor as well as information.
