Tasks of Living With Others

Moving into a new place can be nerve-racking. I found this is especially true when moving in with new roommates who you don't know, but having a positive attitude is always important. Getting adjusted to new roommates' sleep schedule and class schedule can become the greatest challenge. This is true because you have to get accustomed to your roommates coming and going at any hour without worrying.

Another issue that may arise is noise. Noise can become bothersome at times and even inhibit sleep. This issue is to be expected especially during the day and early evening. Since studying while being surrounded by noise can be hard, it is important to find quiet study places or lounges. Learning to sleep while it is noisy has become very important. Sleeping while it is noisy is unavoidable and occurs quite often.

Getting adjusted to the new college food took some time. Although the food tastes good, it didn't take too much time for me to get tired of eating the same food every day. The best part of Penn State's meal program is that you can purchase only what you want to eat and spend a small amount of money instead of having to pay more money for a buffet. After about the first week, I found out that I preferred to buy food from the Blue Spoon Deli because you can easily take the food with you to your next class and eat it on the way.
