Fall Break

Wow, what a weekend. We had Friday off because of fall break...I think my body welcomed the extra sleep that day. I got to watch Sixth Sense with Megan and Julie and Nicole. I think the only one to really remember what happened was Julie, and she was somehow the most scared out of all of us. Haha, oh well. I tried to watch Stick It afterwards, but I fell asleep halfway through. Supposedly it wasn't that great anyway.

On Saturday the Blue Band marched a parade in Pottsville, PA. I have to say that I wasn't that excited about going to it in the morning, but it wasn't that bad when we got there. Everyone there was so welcoming to have us, it was awesome. The Penn State Schuylkill Campus provided us lunch, and we got to meet the cheerleaders there and the people who were in charge of organizing the parade. Interesting thing was that 3 years ago, the coordinator asked Dr. Bundy when during this year we could march a parade there, and he picked this date. They then went and organized the whole entire parade around us marching there. Pretty awesome. The parade was to celebrate their bicentennial, and since they also happen to be the home of yuengling beer, the vocal for the parade was, "200 bottles of beer on the wall, here's to 200 years, since we're here, and you've got beer, Cheers! to another year!" Good times with that.

Unfortunately though, we missed the first 3 quarters of the football game for the parade. We were able to listen to it on the radio on the way home though, so we got most of the 4th quarter. Man, that game was intense! We were winning 14-7 at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and then Minnesota scored, making it 14-14. We then got another touch down after an 80 some yard drive, and with then a minute left in the game, Minnesota scored again making it 21-21. Our bus was going insane. Nobody believed there was a chance we could lose to Minnesota. So into overtime we went, and on like the second play Minnesota scored a touchdown, however, they missed the extra point! Sweet, we still have a chance to win this. We get the ball...1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down gone. We have to score if we even want to stay in this game. 4th down...incomplete pass. Game over. But wait! Pass interference?! No way, 1st down! We still have a chance! 1st down-nothing, 2nd down-nothing. Crap, we suck in the red zone. 3rd down though..touchdown. Sweet, and Kevin got the extra point so we won. Hooray, we won our first away game! Ah, the bus went crazy. It was awesome.

So now today I have nothing to do. Maybe clean the room, should study for Theory test this week, should memorize my music for this weekend. Blah.

6 days until Michigan. Ah yes, and after an intense march-off, I made it into pre-game for Michigan. I might pee my pants. That is all.

For the Glory

Akron

Well we won our first game against Akron! The game itself wasn't too fun. The weather was terrible--cold and rainy. We didn't get to march pregame or halftime, and postgame and corner were pretty crappy too. Oh well, at least next week at notre dame we'll get to perform the same show, so at least somebody will (hopefully) get to see it. Anyway, I added the music from the halftime show and updated my schedule. Go State Beat Irish!
