My research interests are driven by the needs and visions for a more inquisitive and intelligent web, one that can learn and perceive to each individuals needs and desires. An internet which is not a static domain of text but an information repository that constantly evolves towards a knowledge repository.

Currently, I am working on

1.    ConceptVista Ontology/ Concept Map Editor: using information stores or repositories such as WordNET and OpenCYC to provided recommendation during ontology creation. Further, I am also working on mechanisms for integrating knowledge into concepts and techniques to visualize this information effectively.

2.    Schema Matching and Value Mapping Problems.

3.    Ontology alignment/ mapping by using techniques from natural language processing (using semantic or lexical similarity) and by using other algorithms such as Bayesian networks.

4.    Building semantically rich search engines for datasets such my past work on the ChemxSeer project.
