Course Webspace and CMS

I have used both a personal website and course management systems (CMSs) as places for students to go to for class information.

For example, I created a previous website and used it as a way for students to find links to the syllabus, links to tutoring services, links to help with spanish accents, links to class presentations for download, links to get to know their instructor, etc.

my website

I am familiar with three course management systems.

As a student teacher at Provo High School (Provo, UT), I used PowerSchool to manage attendance and grades for several sections of high school Spanish. I am also familiar with BlackBoard.

As an instructor of Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, and Linguistics 100 at Penn State, I used Penn State’s ANGEL course management system.

With ANGEL, students can take on-line quizzes, view their syllabus, find a link to my class presentations, receive announcements that I send to the class, hold threaded discussions with other students, and email their classmates and instructor.
