As much as I enjoyed looking at food and entertainment blogs during our blogging unit, today I would like to talk about a blog with a rather different theme. The New York Times has a blog called Green Inc.

Green Inc can be classified as a professional blog, written by NY Times staff. As an engineering student concerned with the environment, I've always been interested in "sustainable" technology. The definitions of "sustainability" and "clean technology" are fuzzy (remember ethnography, everyone?); one man's clean fuel is another man's pollutant.

Definitions aside, Green Inc is an effective blog, interesting for anyone interested in finding out what's new and exciting in the clean technology arena. The blog pulls stories from a number of sources, as well as writing entirely new articles relating to green business. I think Green Inc does a good job of staying on target - it purports to be a blog specifically about "green" businesses, and it covers a range while not straying off topic. Even the widgets installed are spot-on - for example, the stock indices widget which lists energy and green business exchange data.

Signing out for now,
