Grand Sable Dunes

Located on the south shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais, Michigan, they form the eastern terminus of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. An interesting history of the pictured rocks/dune region is given in chapters 1 and 2 of An Administrative History of the Pictured Rocks.
