IST Interest House

President (Vice President, Secretary) The IST Interest House is a special living option available to those students who would like to live among other students who have interests in the field of IST. By immersing IST students in an environment conducive to interaction with one another, students are able to assist each other with school work and build lasting friendships both in and out of the classroom. Being in such close proximity to other IST students allows easier collaboration in learning, which is heavily integrated into the IST curriculum. As the Vice President, I am responsible for organizing on-going programming including: faculty dinners, guest speakers, tours of facilities around campus such as the Telecommunications Building and Nuclear Reactor, laser tag, gamming nights, study sessions, cultural events (both technology culture and diversity type events), and student advising nights, as well as enabling students to participate in intramural athletic programs. The events are structured to provide unique, fun, and educational experiences which are not available to everyone living on campus, or might otherwise be lost in the list of uncountable opportunities this university provides.
