Margaret Benson

In the summer of 2002, Tom and Margaret Benson worked in Rome, Italy. Margaret taught two Penn State summer session courses in child development and family studies. Tom took his research and writing tasks along, edited The Review of Communication at a distance, and worked on various Rome-based research projects--which included building this web site and taking the pictures that are included here.

This site contains some pictures of the summer -- some of these are family pictures, others show the work of the Human Development and Family Studies class, which was in Rome for almost two months in June and July, working from a home base at the Penn State Sede di Roma in the Palazzo Doria Pamphili along with students studying in nutrition and in architecture. In July, Tom and Margaret were joined by their daughter Sarah Benson (Ph.D., History of Art, Cornell University, 2001), whose primary research interest is in Renaissance Rome, and who contributed some of the photographs in this album.
