VITA
Dr. Lentz specializes in Oral Interpretation, or "the application of the skills of the oral storyteller to the performance of written literature." He teaches CAS 84S, Communication Contexts in Ancient Greece, CAS 100A, Effective Speaking, CAS 280W, Storytelling and Speaking, CAS 211, Informative Speaking, and CAS 480, Group Performance of Literature. The 480 class produces many of the Readers Theatre productions seen on campus, including readings of the Katey Lehman and Edward Nichols Award stories written by Penn State Students.

Lentz also directs the Learning Edge Academic Program (LEAP) for first-year students entering University Park.

Dr. Lentz's annual two-hour presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol has been a tradition at Penn State since 1980. Known as a local storyteller, Lentz also teaches a storytelling workshop for Continuing Education.
