Biographical Sketch

Shruti Gupta is Associate Professor of Marketing in the Division of Social Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University in Abington, PA.  She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from Temple University in 2002. She has previously held academic positions at Susquehanna University, Pa. and Rutgers University - New Brunswick, NJ.

Her research has been published in Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Management among others. Her research in Journal of Consumer Marketing was selected by the Emerald Literati Network to receive the “Highly Commended Award” in 2007. She has also received other awards for her research through the Center for Global Leadership and Center for Responsible Leadership and Governance at Villanova University, PA and the American Marketing Association for the “Best paper in societal, public policy and ethical issues track” in 2004. She has served as a reviewer for the 2008 Winter Educator’s Conference hosted annually by the American Marketing Association and chaired the ethical issues track at the conference. Shruti has presented her research at over fourteen conferences both nationally and internationally. 

Shruti’s major areas of teaching include principles of marketing, consumer behavior, marketing research and global marketing.  Her research interests include corporate social responsibility, cause-related marketing, global ethics and environmental consumerism. She is also a member of the American Marketing Association and the Marketing Science Institute.
