Research Interests
I am interested in broad fields of Information Retrieval and Extraction. I am also interested in Machine Learning, Data Mining and have also worked in Image Processing in the past.
Research Experience
At present, as a Research Assistant in the ChemXSeer project, I am responsible for developing the Figure Search functionality for the ChemXSeer digital library. FIgures are used for a variety of purposes in scientific literature like reporting and summarizing experimental results, describing system architectures and so on. Thus, the capability to search for theses figures brings all this information at the fingertips of researchers. In addition to the search facility, I am also working on the problem of automatically extracting informative synopses describing the figures from the documents.
