This lesson offers evidence of my philosophy that experiments/lessons should be designed so that every student gets to participate and be successful. As part of my assessment, I circulated throughout the classroom to evaluate the participation of every group member. Part of the grade was based on participation and students were informed of this component before the project began. I believe by requiring the participation of all members, each student gained valuable knowledge.
These posters were made after I taught a lesson to the students about natural and artificial light. Students then worked in a group to create a poster classifying light as either natural or artificial. It is an evidence of my ability to understand how students develop and learn. The lesson was taught drawing on the student's knowledge of everyday light sources. Cooperative groups were formed to allow each child the maximum opportunity to work to his or her own potential.
An Overview of Project
It is clear to see that the groups spent a lot of time and effort on their project and were able to name and illustrate many sources of light.
