New Student Days

New Student Days Program

New Student Days is the Orientation Program at Wittenberg, which is scheduled for the first three days before Fall Semester classes begin.  This program is three days long consisting of events for students and parents.  Orientation Assistants (OA) are the student volunteers that are assigned to the incoming new students.  The schedule of events include meetings with OAs, meetings with academic advisors, an opening ceremony with a speech by the President of the University, the Dean of Students, and the President of Student Senate, team building activities, and much more.

As a student at Wittenberg I was involved with New Student Days as a volunteer for three years.

Sophomore Year: Residence Hall Association - helped with check in and coordinated Casino Night

Junior Year: Orientation Assistant - Helped in moving new students into the residence halls and facilitated orientation group meetings and served as a campus resource for first year student adjustment.

Senior Year: Head Orientation Assistant - Selected all 75 OA’s and scheduled the training program for them and  Implemented the OA portion of the Orientation Program (assigned them new student groups, activities, and academic advisors).
