See AHistory of the Shaffer-Miller Schrawder Families, p34
Daniel and Maria Bohner Shaffer had the following children: SarahA. born March 1849, married William W. Rothermel; Catherine, born Feb.2, 1853, married an Adams; Elizabeth, born in 1855, probably diedyoung; Sybilla, born May 25, 1857, married Daniel Klinger; Barbara, born Jan. 1860, married William Leitzel, Anna Jane, born Nov. 4,1862, probably died young; and Emma, born 1863, married a Klinger.Daniel and Frany Snyder Shaffer had the following children: WilliamElsworth, born Sept. 19, 1869, married Mary J. According to tradition, Daniel had four children with his firstwife. He then married a widow with four children and they had fourchildren together. This was related by Minnie Rothermel Smith to BeulahSmith Rebuck. The United States Census records for the years 1850, 1860,1870 and 1880 substantiate this in part. It appears that Daniel had 7children, Frany had 1, and they had 5 together. It appears that Franyhad married a Clark by whom she had 1 child, Catharine.
