Sarah and I volunteered for Election Protection in November 2004. Here is Sarah outside the precinct where we volunteered
in Harrisburg. The guy in the red sweater in the background was one of the Republican goons that our group had to deal with
all day. He is talking to one of the Spanish-speaking Election Protection volunteers after a young Hispanic lady was bullied in
the voting area by one of the Republican poll monitors and left without voting. It was both a great and a disheartening experience.
We got to experience the joys many had with voting, and also the ugliness that went along with voter intimidation.
