The AM1 is an electronic peak flow meter that allows the measurement of lung function parameters. This portable meter permits patients to monitor their peak flow values at home. These values are downloaded at patient visits using the Asthma Monitor Software (AMOS). Peak flow values are used in helping subjects to recognize asthma exacerbations, in defining action plan items, and in recommending treatment in the ER and physician’s office.
