This Page, swinging 7 cu.-yd. bucket, was working near Mahaffey in June 1970. I don't recall the name of the coal company, but I do remember the drag's oiler saying that it was built in 1953. If so, that would make it a late Model 618. The small photo at right and the one below show the engine exhaust pipes common to 600-series models—one for each cylinder! These could present a spectacular show of flame, especially stunning at night, from a hard-working diesel. Page engines were designed to run at a more or less constant low speed (around 450 rpm), which accented the pocketa-pocketa-pocketa.
