This is a two-deck Page dragline (late 600 or early 700-series model) working near Snow Shoe for R. S. Carlin Coal Co. in July 1971. It is a twin-engine machine. Typically, a Page-built five-cylinder diesel at the rear on the main floor powered the drag and hoist functions, while a three-cylinder diesel on the second deck provided power for the electric swing motors. Carlin also had a twin-diesel 700-series dragline working nearby that had a different configuration. Carlin used an attractive red and silver paint scheme, with black accents, for all of its walking draglines, which included both Page and Marion products. |
