Empire Bucyrus-Erie Dragline

This veteran Bycyrus-Erie dragline, in the traditional B-E gray-and-green, is shown stripping near Glen Hope in 1970. It is diesel-powered and swinging what I would estimate to be a bucket in the 6-9 cu.yd. range. The machine appears to be a model 200-W. Note that the external walking mechanism is different than that of either Page or Marion. The operator's cab is on the right, in the Page style. Like Marion but unlike Page, B-E eschewed boom-mounted gantries in the smaller classes of walking draglines. Empire also had a crawler-mounted Lima 2400 at that time. It would be interesting to know which drag was the better performer.
