Seven New Lady Lions Sign Letters of Intent
Here are the future Lady Lions who signed national letters of intent
to play for Penn State next year.
- Lindsey Spann, 5-6 guard (Laurel, Md/Good Counsel HS)
- Aketra 'KeKe' Sevillian, 5-6 guard (Goodrich, Mich/ Goodrich HS)
- Jenny DeGraff, 6-1 forward (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro HS)
- Kaliyah Mitchell, 6-2 forward (Stone Mountain, Ga./Stephenson HS)
- Peyton Whitted, 6-2 forward (Suwanee, Ga./North Gwinnett HS)
- Alex Harris, 6-3 forward (Lorain, Ohio/Southview HS)
- Infiniti Alston, 6-5 center (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor HS)
The class is ranked No. 6 by Collegiate Girls Basketball Report and No.
7 by Blue Star Basketball. ESPN's HoopGurlz said "Penn State added
to its class of 2013
in a big way, landing two Georgia-based prospects in Kaliyah Mitchell of
Stone Mountain and Peyton Whitted from Suwanee. Former club teammates, the
duo will reunite to play together for four seasons starting next fall."
Additional info on the recruits mentioned Jenny DeGraff. "Those three --
along with 6-6 Infiniti Alston of Baltimore, Md., who verbally committed
last year -- give the (Nittany) Lions real size and length as they
continue to compete yearly for the Big Ten Championship." And another
source mentioned Alex Harris as a "physical enforcer in the lane and
should be a perfect complement in this class which already boasts of
two offensive-minded forwards in Kaliyah Mitchell and Peyton Whitted.
Throw in two prior commitments of point guard Lindsay Spann and post
Infiniti Alston and Penn State is poised to have a recruiting
class that ranks near the top of the country."
NOTE: Sevillian is sitting out her senior year due to an ACL tear
