FAME's Years
of Service Survey
Members share
their years of service in athletic media relations
A survey asking for the years of service by female executives in athletic
media relations was first conducted on the FAME listserv between Nov. 27 and Dec. 4,
2000.
Sixty-two members responded to the first survey.
At the conclusion of the first collection of data, the 62
respondents had an average of 14 years of service.
Jamie Wier of Harvard correctly guessed the average.
Here are some interesting points from that initial survey:
- The highest average guess was made by those with 1-5 years of service
who guessed 12.6 years.
- The more experienced veterans, with 16-20 years of service, guessed
the average would be lower at 4.5 years.
New information has been added since December, 2000, and
the latest survey (as of 2/01/01) includes 84 respondents.
Those on the current list have worked an average of 12.44 years.
Ohers still are welcome to join the list.
