Nebraska's Chris Anderson and West Virginia's Shelly Poe have taken teams to bowl games with national championships on the line. Anderson builds her media relations' efforts on guidelines spelled out in her Husker Media Handbook. Poe believes a good relationship with athletic trainers is a must when SIDs must share information on injuries with the sports media. Here's what these two FAME veterans have to say. Nebraska's media handbook requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't already have it, download and install it to read this guide. Members of ECAC-SIDA have published a job-seekers' guide for internships and assistantships. FAME's Ann King sent us the information and we're sharing it with you. You'll need Adobe Acrobat to read the 16-page document. FAME is still looking for data on years of service by women in athletic media relations and more complete listings for the member directory. To be included in the years of service survey or to help update the member directory , send information to mjh11@psu.edu FAME has scheduled two meetings at this summer's CoSIDA Workshop. The first is on Sunday, July 1 from 4 to 5 p.m. and will include topics culled from a listserv survey. At the second meeting on Monday, July 2 from 6 to 7 p.m. we'll network and explore future FAME projects. Here's more on the 2001 CoSIDA Workshop Program |
