Tying Instructions

1. Select proper hook 3x long, remove barb, and secure in vise .
2. Attach thread 25% behind eye of hook. Wind back to bend of hook.
3. Select and attach marabou tail fibers with a pinch tie, tail length equal to length of hook shank. Wrap excess as underbody for fly. Select chenille and hackle to compliment color of the fly.
4. Attach chenille to the hook where the tail meets the body. Tie in by strings after cleaning of fibers. Select hackle 2x the gap of the hook and attach by the tip, dull side towards the hook. Wind body material.
5. Bring thread half way up shank. Wrap chenille up to the thread. Palmer wrap hackle as far as it will reach over the body of the fly; tie off and trim. Tie in 2nd hackle of the same size where 1st hackle ends. Wrap thread and chenille towards eye; leave room for a head. Palmer 2nd hackle to end of body, tie off and form head.
6. Wind 1st hackle foward ,one wrap tight in front of the last; leave adequate room at the eye to build up thread for head. Preen fibers to release any trapped barbs and tie off with two wraps of thread. Wind 2nd hackle over and through 1st hackle, wiggle hackle as you wrap to avoid trapping. Tie off opposite of where 1st hackle ended. Tie off, finish head, and whip finish.
