Select proper hook, remove barb,
and secure in vise .
Attach thread 25% behind eye of hook. Wind back to bend of hook.

Dub fur on thread and/or wind body material
forward 75% of hook shank. Taper body from tail to head. |

|

Dub fur on thread and/or wind body material forward 66% of hook shank. Taper body from tail
to head. |

5. |
Select hen hackle 1 to 1½ x gap of the hook.
Tie in hackle by tip, concave/dull side in towards the hook. Wrap thread
forward, almost to the eye of the hook. Let bobbin hang. |

6. |
Wind hackle forward, leaving adequate room at
the eye to build up thread for a head. Tie off with a whip finish. |
