The following is a list of skills and concepts that will be
presented during the class. While this information for the course is divided into three topic areas,
it will become obvious that they are all interrelated to make you a more efficient
angler. Many of these are progressive; that is, some of the basic skills must
be mastered in order to be successful with other skills listed. The class is organized to
present the easier skills first, allow you practice time, and then challenge you to perform
at higher level. We are not talking quantum physics, but you must pay attention and
practice to succeed.
An understanding of topics and skills presented in this section will serve as your foundation to become a proficient fly tier. As in any activity, a mastery of certain
fly tying fundamentals allows you to continue to grow as you encounter new information. Properly used, the basics and the advanced tasks will be easier to absorb.
