My Years as a "Civil War Trooper" :

Pat and Bobby

This is my hubby Pat and our Quarter Horse gelding Bobby

Gettysburg National Military Park, 1999

We have done demonstrations for the National Park every year in front of the Pennsylvania Monument. We would perform 2 - 3 demo's a day, so in between we would rest under the patch of woods in the middle of the field near the monument. We camped in Pitzer's Woods, the line where the Rebels started on their fateful march of Pickett's Charge in July 1863. We rode the same paths that the Rebels took to the Union line. What feelings and thoughts you would have when we made those rides across those historic fields, imagining what it must have been like. Unimaginable!

Bobby in front of the troops instead of in the ranks for the first time. He did a wonderful job considering it was his first major event of his cavalry career.

Last minute details prior to marching to battle.
