Since 1979 , have been a part-time sports writer for the State College
newspaper Centre
Daily Times. I 'cover' ALL golf
within the Centre Region Area for the CDT, including writing a weekly golf
column. Cover high school football and Penn State
football
in
the
fall, high school wrestling and basketball
during the winter months and baseball and softball in the spring.
Also 'cover' various sports, as a part-time sports scribe, for several area newspapers, including the Altoona Mirror , the Lock Haven Express, the Lewistown Sentinel and the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, as well as handling various events for the Associated Press.
Dave Baker and I were selected as the first "official" scorekeepers for the State College Spikes minor league baseball team. The Spikes will play their home games at the new baseball ballpark, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park located on the Penn State campus near Beaver Stadium. Opening Day is Tuesday, June 20, 2006.

Along with good friend, Tom Herrington of Philipsburg, converted from manual statistics to computer statistics for Penn State football. Have been "official football statistician" for the Nittany Lions for the past 20 years, using the football statistics program "STATMAN". I was born and raised in the friendly confines of Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, a small town of nearly 4,000. Philipsburg was a great place to grow up with several baseball fields, Cold Stream Dam for swimming and now a YMCA! The part of Philipsburg where the ball fields are located is known as Slabtown where some of the "greats, near-greats and ingrates" of the town spent their childhood!
Some great "old" photos of Philipsburg are located at this site http://www.familyoldphotos.com/penn/coll/philipsburg.htm
