Education Technology Services(ETS)

supports and empowers faculty in the integration of current and emerging technologies to improve teaching and learning.
This faculty support unit is dedicated to the effective use of teaching and learning technologies in the University curriculum.The unit was formed in late 1986 as a direct result of a strategic priority to use information technologies to help faculty teach and students learn more effectively.Information technologiesprovide dynamic tools that enhance teaching and learning. ETS serves as a bridge between these new technologies and the faculty's effective use of them.
The staff of ETS brings professional expertise in learning theory and design to the challenge of identifying and implementing instructional solutions. The unit's philosophy of instruction encourages creative and innovative uses of technology that actively engage learners in acquiring and assimilating the core principles and experiences of a discipline.

ETS offers the following services through its various programs and facilities: development of prototype instructional software in cooperation with faculty; seminars on multimedia for instruction, communication, and authoring tools, and teaching and learning using the World Wide Web; consulting on the use of information technologies to meet instructional needs; consulting, training, and information dissemination on emerging digital media integration; development of multimedia projects; and support of college, campus, and department education technology training initiatives.
